Challenge Program

What is Challenge?

Challenge Is

The University Recreation Challenge Program launched in spring of 2004 by utilizing portable activities with academic groups. The challenge course (ropes course) was built in the SRC backyard in the summer of 2004 adding both low and high outdoor elements.

You retain 20% of what you hear, 50% of what you see, and 80% of what you do.

Challenge is a branch of experiential education utilizing specialized activities to accelerate learning, allowing participants to explore and practice new skills and styles. By participating in challenge, your group will develop teamwork and interpersonal skills.

Most importantly, challenge is fun! Your group may choose from table top indoor exercises, portable and low elements, or high course activities. A physically and emotionally safe environment for learning and choosing is the starting point for all programs.

The UREC Challenge Program is a "signature" learning laboratory in support of core institutional values:challenge
